Wild at Heart Tattoo is the oldest tattoo shop in Brisbane and one of the most well-known tattoo studios in Australia. We're a family-run business founded by Bernhard Olszewski who began tattooing in 1980.

In 1983, Bernie opened the first tattoo studio on the Gold Coast - IMPACT TATTOO- in Burleigh Heads then Southport. He later moved up to Brisbane to work with Moe Webley at his studio - EXPERT TATTOO - in Stones Corner. Expert was one of the three original tattoo studios in Brisbane in the eighties, and enjoyed a colourful history. Moe eventually moved the shop up to Cairns.

Wild at Heart has an extensive collection of original hand-drawn flash from Impact and Expert Tattoo that we don't put up online, to preserve some of the magic of traditional Australian tattooing. The only way you'll see it is to come in and check it out. ​​​​​

​Bernie now co-owns Wild at Heart Tattoo with his partner, Cathy FitzGerald, who has been an award-winning Brisbane tattooer since 2000. ​Many of Brisbane's best tattoo artists have worked in the studio. For over three decades,  Wild at Heart Tattoo has been at the forefront of Brisbane tattooing and has a vast wealth of knowledge about the art that only time can bring.
