How long does it last?
Cosmetic tattoo pigments are intentionally designed to fade gradually, as trends or preferences change. Brows typically last up to 2 years between treatments. This is why they are called semi-permanent.
Scar camouflage inks are like body tattoo pigments, which are designed to be permanent.
Lifestyle, skin conditions, environment and aftercare will affect their longevity.
DO YOU DO TOUCH-UPS?
IS IT PAINFUL?
Most clients describe it as mildy uncomfortable, like tweezering. If you're concerned, you're welcome to drop by the chemist next door to purchase numbing cream. It can be applied 20 minutes before the appointment.
By law, only nurses or doctors are allowed to apply topical creams, so please consult with your health care professional to make sure these creams are suitable for you.
As an experienced professional, it is rare for Felipe to need to retouch his initial work. Brows will appear darker at first and can take up around 4 weeks to settle to their usual colour.
You are always welcome to book a follow-up appointment if you do feel you need anything touched up, eg. if you have accidentally scratched your eyebrow during healing. This service is complimentary and available 4-6 weeks after your treatment.
Cosmetic pigments are designed to fade over time. To maintain optimal brows, we welcome touch-ups between major treatments:
6 weeks - 6 months: $180
6 months - 12 months: $250
12 months - 18 months: $450
18 months+: $650
What are the latest styles?
Natural looking semi-permanent brows using hairstrokes (known as "nano brows", applied with a fine machine needle; the older hand tooled technique "microblading" doesn't generally deliver as refined results), powder, ombre and/or a soft or bold combination of some of the individual techniques.
We can help you determine which style or combo will suit you best. Your skin type, condition, tone and lifestyle can also influence which style might be best.
For example, oilier skin may not hold fine hair strokes as well as a softer ombre or powder approach.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?
Please refrain from any other facial beauty treatments (incl. waxing) for at least 48 hours before your treatment to give your skin time to settle.
WHAT AFTERCARE IS NEEDED?
The skin of your brows can take up to 2 weeks to heal, during which time we advise to minimize sweating, sun exposure, and swimming. Also avoid using any hair lightening or darkening shampoos that may run over the brows during showering.
The cosmetic pigment ink can take 4-6 weeks to settle into your skin, and is often darker looking during the initial healing time.
During the first 6 weeks, we recommend keeping your face out of the sun as much as possible, and avoiding strong sun screens. Applying face lightening serums can also lighten the brow pigment during this time.
